Title: Top of the league?
Last weekend Cooper Group UK were proud sponsors of the Championship clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley FC.
Being a Wolverhampton based company it stands to reason that Wolverhampton Wanderers enjoy a lot of support from within our ranks. While its true we have a great number of football teams supporters at Cooper Group whether it is Newcastle United, Coventry City, Sunderland or West Brom, Wolves are the team of choice. That being the case last weekend's Championship clash with Burnley provided us with a fantastic opportunity to support our favourite team and show our appreciation to some of our customers by taking them along.
Cooper Group were the main sponsors of the match and also sponsors of Wolves manager Mick McCarthy who we got to share some time with before the game. The day also marked the fulfilment of childhood dreams for Cooper Group managing director Ian Cooper and business development manager Jonathan Brimble, both lifelong Wolves supporters who got to join their heroes on the pitch prior to kick-off.
Wolves ran out eventual winners 2-0 in a game they controlled from start to finish which took them 6 points clear at the top of the Championship table.
Following the game managing director Ian Cooper presented Wolves defender Michael Mancienne with his Man of the Match award while receiving a framed signed Wolves shirt. Michael also presented Jonathan Brimble with a signed Mick McCarthy painting in thanks for our managers sponsorship.
We would like to say a big thank you to Wolverhampton Wanderers for their hospitality throughout the day and in particular to Mick McCarthy for fielding our questions so graciously!
For anyone that is a football fan in general check out our gallery, now containing pictures from our day with the Wolves at Molineux.
In February 2009 Cooper Group UK will also be sponsoring the Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United at the Hawthorns.
