Cooper Group UK History
Cooper Municipal Services was founded in 1986 by Bob Cooper.
Bob established the company after seeing the need for an independent service provider, specialising in the repair of refuse collection vehicles.
The beginning of Coopers was that of a mobile service provider. 20 years later, the company boasts a 35,000 sq/ft fully equipped workshop with 2 acres of parking and storage. In 1998 Coopers were approached by Partek Cargotec who manufactured Hiab Cranes, Multilift demountables and Norba refuse collection vehicles. Coopers were then invited to be the West Midlands agent for the Norba product, soon progressing into repairing Cranes and demountables.
2005 saw the need to separate this business and we incorporated Cooper Hiab Limited into the Cooper group of company’s.
In 2002 due to increased vehicle repairs and customer demands, Cooper Hire was established. Initially this was to supply courtesy vehicles to local customers. The increased demand for hire vehicles soon outweighed the demand for courtesy vehicles.
This triggered a rapid expansion of the company. The key to Coopers success is our professional reliable service, our dedication to the management of solutions backed by over twenty years of experience, expertise and knowledge of the waste collection industry.
